direction and opening hours: Wednesday 9 am - 12 am, every 4th Sunday and events: 7 pm - 9 pm. Extra appointments can be made for groups. Admission is free. Library, collections and office of the NS Documentation Center are housed in the City Archive. Admission is possible by appointment.

By bike: The cross-regional bike trail R 15 (at the city wall entrance to Lower Rhine route) cuts across the Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse. Turn off towards the innercity after ca. 10 minutes. Public transporation: From the Krefeld train station take the tram 042 (in the direction of Elfrath) or 043 (in the direction of Uerdingen) until Moltkestrasse or bus number 927 (in the direction of Rheinhausen) or 058 (in the direction of Traar) to Bismarckplatz. Ten minute walk for both. By car: A 57 to Krefeld-Zentrum exit, from there follow first signs to Grotenburg/Zoo (Berliner Strasse - Glockenspitz, continue in the same direction until the merging of Grenzstrasse (rechts). From there turn right after the second light left into the Friedrich-Eberst-Strasse. The Villa Merländer lies between Dürerstrasse and Roonstrasse.
